No doubt John Wooden will not be forgotten, if even for his accomplishments. 10 Championships in 12 years, including 7 in a row is a feat that dwarfs the likes of Coach K and Bobby Knight. He groomed such players as Bill Walton and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But he will also be remembered for what he taught.
"Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability". He only instructed players on how to live the right way. The right way to play basketball would only come out of that. He was able to get players to perform to the best of their ability, and in doing so shaped the game of basketball James Naismith would be proud of.
